Summer Mala Workshop in Hallein
Summer, sun and so many beads!
On 28.07.2018 one of the most beautiful malaworkshops of this year took place in the old forester's lodge in Hallein in fantastic summer weather. Actually it was actually in the garden of the Forsthaus, where I had spent so many days during my yoga training one year before and listened to my great teacher Peter Clifford. So now I was suddenly sitting here myself and was allowed to teach the participants how to create their own yogamala patterns.
Peter Clifford and Anahata Yoga
I was particularly pleased that my teacher Peter Clifford himself was in Hallein with this year's yoga teacher students and did not miss the opportunity to create and weave two malas for his children. I was not surprised that this was not the first time for him to knot onemala , but I was of course very happy that I could teach him something new after all. Traditionally, the knots were made without tweezers, but with tweezers it is much easier and the knots can be tightened and pushed much closer to thembeads .
That I was able to show Peter how to make the knots with tweezers was of course a special pleasure for me. When do you ever have the opportunity to teach your own teacher? |
The Garden of Eden and the Hallein Forester's House.
A special thanks goes to Grit Weickl, who made this beautiful garden of her forester's house available to us. It couldn't be more dreamlike and I hope that many more nice workshops will take place here! By the way, Grit also knotted one of the most beautiful Malas of the day - one of my favourite combinations of Grant and Gold, tied and knotted with wine-red silk and matching tassel. Well, who wouldn't want to design and make their ownmala ?
