What is a mala?

Mala necklaces are very special pieces of jewelry. They are traditionally used in yoga when reciting mantras. One mala usually consists of 108 beads, a guru-bead and a tassel. In Buddhism and Hinduism the number 108 has a special meaning. It is said that a mantra develops its special effect only after 108 repetitions.

All mala necklaces are knotted by me with intention and individual message. Every mala is a unique piece if not otherwise marked as a small series editon of 10 pieces maximum.
