Handmade beading boards from wood - a real heart project

I have always been frustrated by the grey beading boards made of plastic. They are light and cheap, unstable, attract lint and are far from attractive. For designing and knotting individual yoga malas (for the Japa meditation), they are mostly too small, with 108 bead necklaces often reaching a length of 100 cm or more. The process of sitting in front of such a jewelry board for several hours is very sensual and meditative. By contrast, the haptic sense of a flocked piece of plastic disturbs this process. In the end, the development of my own small "collection" of wood beading and bracelet boards was the logical outcome.

The surface is treated with biological, cold-pressed linseed oil and can be wiped off at any time and re-oiled if necessary. Most importantly, they are especially beautiful in photos, so these wooden beading boards can be proudly displayed. 

Guru notch & bracelet groove
The first wooden beading board, the "malaboard", I originally developed for malamakers like me, because there were no suitable plastic boards which met my needs when making malas. For this special beading board I also came up with the idea for the guru bead notch, so that I could place it on the board independently from the 108 beads when designing the mala.

I also integrated the bracelet ring shaped groove into this board, because this combination did not exist anywhere before.The central position is not randomly chosen, but meant to put your logo of choice in this prominent position. In case you want to personalize your board, please get in touch. That I was right with my design is obviously confirmed by the many imitators that copied it by now. I take it as a compliment!

All of my handmade wooden beading boards are available with or without dimensioning in inch and cm. Of course I have thought of something special, so that I can meet the different needs of the "maker" and bead lovers in the best possible way. The dimensions are probably the most accurate you can find on beading boards anywhere. Whether you want to design bracelets from the center or from left to right - both is possible.

The surface of my handmade wooden beading boards is pleasant to touch, does not attract lint and is easy to clean. The wood is treated with organic, cold-pressed linseed oil (sometimes also walnut oil or beeswax) and can be wiped off at any time with a dry or slightly damp cloth. If necessary, it board can be re-oiled at any time with the appropriate oil.

Wood is a natural product and is subject to fluctuations. Not only because of this each board is a little bit different, but also because it is processed in several ways. Small deviations, irregularities and unevenness are evidence of manual small series production and do not constitute a defect. On the contrary: every board sold here is unique and has its own character. This applies to the grain as well as the surface or edges. Look forward to your very own personal beading board!
